Managing High-Risk Adolescents in Community Contexts: The Averted Paw Paw High School and South Haven Pier Shooting in Michigan

Today, the National Policing Institute’s Center for Targeted Violence Prevention and Michigan State University’s Department of Psychiatry released a special report in which we analyzed an averted school shooting in Paw Paw, Michigan. Tragically, shortly after his release from a juvenile facility the plotter committed a homicide/suicide. Through the case study and the lessons learned we hope to inform targeted violence prevention policies and practices.
